About CYBF
Are you an aspiring young entrepreneur, aged 18 to 34, with a solid business idea? Are you looking for the financial support and expert advice that will help you bring your great business idea to life? The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) can help.
As a young entrepreneur, you have the opportunity to contribute to Canada’s current and future prosperity and well-being. Turning a great idea into a thriving business will not only help you support and create new Canadian jobs in your community, but will also expand your own skills in an exciting and rewarding way.
CYBF helps you through the entire business life-cycle from pre-launch planning, to start-up, to implementation by providing:
- Pre-launch and Post-launch Coaching – learn how to build your business plan, overcome challenges and grow your venture through our network of community partners and our entrepreneurs-in-residence.
- Financing – find the best funding option for you whether you are an emerging entrepreneur, a new Canadian or an existing young business owner. CYBF provides access to up to $50,000 in start-up financing and access to up to $30,000 in expansion financing through our unique partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada.
- Mentoring – benefit from the extensive experience of a business professional who will work with you for a minimum of two years to ensure the success of your new business.
- Online Business Resources – get references and information about each stage of business development; from initial concept and planning, to implementation, growth and measurement.
CYBF is Canada’s ‘go to’ place for young entrepreneurs, and our success is proven. As a national charity established in 1996, we’ve invested in more than 4,900 young Canadians who have established successful businesses that have created more than 19,430 new jobs, $138 million in tax revenue, and hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and export revenues. We credit our impressive financing repayment rate of 94% to our world-class mentoring program and other resources, which offers the support needed in the first two years of business.
As an organization, we are always looking for new opportunities to promote youth entrepreneurship on the world’s stage – building partnerships with government, corporate and non-profit organizations, hosting initiatives such as Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada, and founding the inaugural G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit and the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance.
